What Your Peers Love About Clarity

“Going through a software migration is hard work, but the change to Clarity brought about better collaboration amongst the System Admins across the state. One of the benefits of the Clarity software is the built-in functionality that reduces the amount of end user errors. Also, there are a lot more reports, including reports that are specific to clients that end users can run. Users adjusted to using Clarity quickly with some helpful tips and reminders that were pointed out during the initial training. Clarity has allowed us to streamline our workflow for all project types requiring less specialized workflow training.”

“Bitfocus and their Outreach module have provided our community with some phenomenal tools to start tracking and evaluating what unsheltered homelessness truly looks like in our community. With the cooperation of our outreach providers, our goal is to be able to provide services more effectively to those in need and data to support the great work our community does. Your Path to Clarity

We’re devoted to making your HMIS transition as smooth as can be. What does that look like in practice?

A Personalized Approach

We’ve helped implement Clarity for dozens of communities. We’ve never done it the same way twice. Why? Because a location-savvy approach — one that takes into account Oregon’s strengths, blind spots, and CoC partnerships — is far more effective than steamrolling forward with a one-size-fits-all approach.

FAQs on Clarity Human Services for Oregon CoCs

How does Clarity support Oregon's multi-CoC structure?

When our team at Bitfocus partners with multiple CoCs in the same region, we facilitate collaboration through:

  • Sharing Groups: With Clarity’s sharing model, each agency can share (or limit) specific types of client data, regardless of geographic (CoC) boundaries.
  • Community Queue (CQ): This feature, which is a centerpiece of coordinated entry data management, can be configured to cater to specific homeless populations (e.g. veterans, youth, etc.) across boundaries. CQ can also help you regionalize coordinated entry referrals within a large CoC (for example, a Balance of State CoC). Together, these features enable multi-CoC customers to mirror the way neighboring areas share or limit access to homelessness resources.
• CoC-Based Reporting and Settings: In Clarity, you can establish settings at the CoC level, including referral workflows and data-sharing options. Both prebuilt reports and custom reports allow you to generate reports at the CoC level (individual or multiple CoCs). Clarity’s reporting tools are designed to handle large reports and exports — including reporting for multi-CoC systems and high-volume programs — on demand, without special accommodations or procedures.
Can Clarity integrate with our existing systems?

Clarity Human Services makes data collection and sharing easy and secure through various tools and APIs:

  • Data Import Tool supports CSV/XML formats for bulk data imports or HMIS-to-HMIS integrations, with manual or automated options, ideal for regional collaboration.
  • Operational API enables real-time interaction with Clarity to programmatically add, update, or retrieve client data, perfect for custom system integrations.
  • Data Analysis API facilitates integration with our reporting infrastructure to pull data, generate reports, and automate processes.
  • Data Warehouse stores and analyzes external and/or HMIS data for comprehensive cross-system analysis.
How long does the transition to Clarity typically take?

While the exact time frame depends on your community’s needs, we aim to get your community up and running within 6-8 months. Our support team will be there for you every step of the way, guiding your CoC to a headache-free transition.

How does Clarity ensure data security and compliance?

We use the most secure, up-to-date, and reliable security controls. Clarity's data storage practices exceed key HUD data standards and align with the latest best practices in our industry, ensuring your clients’ information is always private and extremely well protected.
