More Speed, More Connections: Your August 2025 Clarity Update

Bulk inventory editing, streamlined alerts, visible privacy controls, and more — Clarity's August 2025 updates focus on reducing administrative burden and speeding up your housing work.
This month’s updates make common tasks faster and more intuitive: bulk editing saves time on routine updates, organized sidebars keep critical information visible, and clear privacy controls give you confidence in data sharing decisions.
(Not using the latest and greatest version of Clarity yet? Here’s everything you need to know about making the switch!)
Now, let’s dig into the updates!
Bulk Edit Inventory Units
The Upgrade
Users can now select multiple inventory units from the Inventory Dashboard and update custom fields simultaneously.
The Impact
This saves time on routine updates that previously required opening dozens of individual records. Housing programs often need to update availability status or program requirements across multiple units when funding changes or new accessibility requirements emerge.
Public Alerts in New Interface
The Upgrade
Staff can now create, edit, and manage public alerts directly from client profiles. Public alerts appear in a dedicated "Alerts" section in the client sidebar within the new Clarity interface.
The Impact
This provides immediate access to crucial client information. These visible alerts highlight important needs or opportunities so staff can act quickly and effectively.
Client Referral Information Sidebar
The Upgrade
Staff can now see program referrals and community queue referrals in expandable sidebar sections on client profiles. Each section displays the number of active referrals with links to more information.
The Impact
Housing navigators now get immediate referral status visibility. This helps staff make informed decisions about which clients are best suited for new openings based on their current application status and program fit.
Enhanced Interface Experience
The Upgrade
With the new Clarity interface, staff can easily access the following information:
- Public alerts
- Location records
- Client referrals
Users can create and manage alerts from client profiles, view and edit location information in a dedicated tab, and see referral information in expandable sidebar sections.
The interface also includes privacy controls with lock icons, comprehensive audit logs accessible through action menus, and rich tooltips that appear when hovered on.
The Impact
These interface improvements give users quicker access to critical information. Staff can filter for needed records more easily, view the most important client data without additional clicks, and access warning contents by hovering rather than clicking through multiple screens.
Privacy status and audit logs appear in consistent locations across all record types. The streamlined design reduces the time spent navigating between different interface versions and hunting for essential client information.
Portal Account Deactivation
The Upgrade
Administrators can now automatically deactivate inactive client portal accounts after configurable periods (30-360 days). Clients receive advance warning notifications and can reactivate accounts by logging in.
The Impact
Portal deactivation protects sensitive client data from unauthorized access when accounts sit unused. Automatic deactivation with advance notice maintains security while preserving authorized client access to their information.
Improved Data Cascading
The Upgrade
Staff can now rely on more accurate data transfer between screens. The system considers timestamps instead of just dates when determining whether information should cascade from one record to another.
The Impact
By ensuring that the correct data cascades between records, this update reduces data entry burden and the number of times a client must provide the same information.
Streamlined Community Queue Management
The Upgrade
Clients automatically exited from programs due to inactivity no longer remain active on the community queue. The system recognizes that inactivity-based exits indicate disengagement rather than continued service participation.
The Impact
This update limits wasted outreach efforts by staff. Resources can now focus on people ready to move forward with housing plans rather than those who have stopped participating in programs.
